KNOW YOUR ENEMY

Text: Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

Memory verse: 1 Peter 5: 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

What Is the Spirit of Death? The spirit of death is a demon, a very powerful one bent on our destruction, to provoke premature death in our physical bodies. It works with a team of demons such as the spirit of fear, the spirit of infirmity, and others too. This death that I am referring to here is not to be confused with what’s discussed in Scripture about an appointed time to die. The following verses tell us God’s plan for the death of His children:

Ecclesiastes 3:1 To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die. Job 5:26 You shall come to the grave at a full age, as a sheaf of grain ripens in its season. Psalm 104:29…You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.

God’s plan for us is that we live to a ripe old age; and when we fulfil the time He has allotted for us, He takes our breath away. There is no pain and great suffering. We simply pass from this earth and into our eternal destination. And this answers a common question asked by many, including faithful Christians, “Under what circumstance is the end?”

Therefore, the spirit of death that is being referred to here is the premature death, when the life of someone is being stolen before their appointed time and is usually very tragic in nature and includes incidents of fatal accidents and suffering through sickness and disease, suicide, and murder, including abortion. An example of the work of the spirit of death is a young woman, a faithful wife and mother, whose body is being attacked by a deadly cancer, beginning with metastatic breast cancer that spreads to her lungs and to her brain. God is not the author of this type of death. Jesus paid a high price with His blood and broken flesh for the healing and deliverance of this precious woman. This is premature death, and the spirit of death is fighting hard to take this woman out before her appointed time, before she can fulfil her destiny. This is tragic and demonic in every way.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. The first step in any battle is to know who your enemy is, otherwise, you will engage in combat with your fellow soldiers and your allies, or those who are sent to help you. The word “ally” comes from the Latin word alligare, meaning “to bind to,” like nations who are allies in wartime, they will act together, and protect one another. God and His heavenly hosts of angels are your allies, and the believing believers are your fellow soldiers in this fight.

And yes, you are caught up in a battle, a very personal one. And unless you know who your real enemy is, you can’t win the fight. God knows fully well that His enemy is Satan and the harm he commits against us. This is one reason why He sent His Son Jesus, “that He might destroy the works of the devil” 1 John 3:8. But many people don’t believe Him nowadays. In fact, many who once believed God’s Word now claim there is no hell, there is no devil, and everything that happens, whether good or bad, comes from God. 1 Timothy 4:1 says, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.” In the middle of this spiritual confusion, they lose the battle because they are not sure about who their real enemy is, and what they fight against. And they battle this confusion within themselves as they believe all things, both good and evil are from God, and why would God do this to them. It ends up being a lost battle.

 Prayers 

1.  Lord God Almighty, separate me and my family from the arrow of death, in Jesus’ name.

2.  I break every curse of death in my life and family, in the name of Jesus.

3.  Every messenger of death operating in my family line, I subdue you now in the name of Jesus.

4.  By the blood of Jesus, I wash away from my foundation every deposit of untimely death, in my family lineage in Jesus’ name.

5.  Lord God Almighty, let all powers of death encamping around me and my family become confused and scatter in the name of Jesus.

6.  I bind every strongman of death working against my life, in Jesus’ name.

7.  Any spirit that has been empowered to sponsor death in my family receive fire and death sentence in the mighty name of Jesus.

8.  I bear upon me the marks of Christ; therefore, I refuse to picture death in my subconscious mind, in Jesus’ name.

9.  Hear my voice, O God, preserve my life from the fear of death and hell, in Jesus’ name.

10.  Hide me O God from the attack of untimely death’s arrow, in the name of Jesus.

11.  God destroy every presence of darkness around my life. Turn every darkness in my life to light in Jesus’ name.

12.  Every evil power planning against me, scatter unto desolation, in Jesus’ name.

13.  I declare in the name of Jesus let the arrow of my enemy turn against them now. Fire for fire, arrows for arrows and bullets for bullets in Jesus’s name. Amen.

14.  Every pit, dug for my life by the agents of death, swallow the agents, in the name of Jesus.

Declarations

All mighty God, in the name of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Ghost, separate me and every member of my family, biological and Spiritual families from the arrows and power of death this year and beyond, every arrow of death fired at us be returned back to senders, O God, preserve our lives from the fear of death and hell, we subdue every Messager of death sent to set confusion in our spiritual life, we bear upon us the marks of Christ; and refuse to picture death in our subconscious mind in Jesus’ name. Amen. Lord God, every pit of death prepared against us shall swallow those that dug the pits in Jesus’ name. Amen. Any spirit that has been empowered and sponsored to sponsor death in my family receive fire and death sentence in Jesus’ name. Every power of death encamping around me and my family become confused and be scattered in Jesus’ name.
