- TODAY'S BIBLE TEXT
Text: Isaiah 8:16-18
16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples. 17 And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him. 18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

WAIT FOR GOD
Text: Isaiah 8:16-18
Memory verse: Micah 7:7 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
Micah told Israel to wait on God. But we don’t want to wait. We want what we want when we want it. We just feel that God takes too long to do what we want Him to do. We feel that there is a quicker way to get what we want. There may be a quicker way, but at what cost? I have seen this situation so many times before and it always has to do with money.
If money is what you desire and what you say you need, the Bible that I read says, “the love for that money is the root to all kinds of evil.” It is not saying that money is bad, but it depends on your intentions and if you have a selfish agenda for it. You will be willing to sell or give up something that is not yours, even give up your soul. It is not yours to give, but it is yours to send it into eternal damnation.
Selling your soul is ignoring self-values and knowing that what you are doing is wrong. It is against everything we believe in, to let money have the control that it has over us. Realistically, we all have done it. We slept around for money, lied for money, stole to get money, we receive something for free or pay little or nothing for it and turn around and sell it to somebody in hopes of making a bigger profit. Betray, back-stab, manipulate, cheat, and swindle all for the love of money. If you ever want to see family or a friendship, been torn apart, make money and see what happens. Situations become a whole lot different when money is involved. But “wherever your treasure is there the desires of your heart will also be.”
You may not sell your soul for money, but you will mismanage it. You want God to bless you with more money, but you are not even a good steward of the little that He has allowed you to have now. A lot of us make enough money but we just mismanage what we are given. A lot of us are in financial disarray because we have mismanaged our finances, and we want God to get us out of it. You want God to bless you with a new car, but nothing is wrong with the car you have, and you can’t even maintain the one you have. You want a man or a woman in your life so you can be happy and feel complete, but you are not even happy with yourself. Looking at all these there still lies another part of waiting patiently in the Lord, and it is being contented with our situations and circumstances.
- TODAY'S HYMNAL
CGDS HYMN 30: SS&S 902:
MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING LESS
1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand2. When darkness veils His lovely face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.3. His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay4. When He shall come with trumpet sound
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne - TODAY'S PRAYERS

2. LORD God Almighty, as I wait on You always, be my rewarder according to Your words and give me strength in every situation, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
