  • TODAY'S BIBLE TEXT

    Text: Proverbs 3:5-8

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;  and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes:  fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

    TRUSTING GOD

    Text: Proverbs 3:5-8

Memory verse: Proverbs 29: 25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.

I met a lady on the street bragging on her android phone one beautiful morning that her phone was like her personal assistant. That the phone does everything for her. At a point he needed to do something that the phone could not respond. She immediately dropped and cracked her phone on the floor. She tried to fix the phone back but could not, she lost all her contacts, music, pictures appointments because she did not back them up.

Trust is like being in a situation and you know that whatever the situations around you, you just know that you have someone behind you with so much guarantee. When your trust is in God, you know that no weapon formed against you will be able to prosper. If you go out in righteousness, then God is rolling out with you. Jeremiah 17:7 says, 7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruits. Not only do you have to trust God, He also has to be able to trust you. You can’t expect Him to do His part if you are not willing to do yours. How can you expect your water to boil in the pot if you don’t heat it up with fire. The water cannot do what it is intended to do if you do not do your own part.

Every miracle in the Bible was performed by the participation of the person receiving the deliverance. They had to trust in the One who made the miracles possible. 1 Samuel 12:22 For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you, his people. “He will not forsake those who trust in Him.” Micah 7:7 says, Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.

  • TODAY'S HYMNAL

    CGDS HYMN 30: SS&S 902:

MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING LESS

    1. My hope is built on nothing less
    Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand

    2. When darkness veils His lovely face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.

    3. His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay

    4. When He shall come with trumpet sound
    Oh, may I then in Him be found;
    In Him, my righteousness, alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne
