THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE “from the eyes” 2
- TODAY'S BIBLE TEXT
Text: Hebrews 5:12-14
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

THE WORD OF KNOWLEDGE “from the eyes” 2
Text: Hebrews 5:12-14
Memory verse: 2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
The word of knowledge is just one of the several spiritual gifts listed in the Bible. We looked at that earlier in 1 Corinthians 12. Our heavenly Father, through the power of the Holy Spirit, can cause us to function in any of the gifts for His purposes. The word of knowledge can be operated in for several purposes, including but not limited to physical and emotional healing and discerning spiritual matters. The Lord desires to use every person who has given their life to Jesus Christ for kingdom purposes. The best way to begin to understand that we can operate in these gifts is to learn how each gift operates. These gifts can manifest at any moment, as God chooses. Our job is simply to cooperate.
Unfortunately, the Bible doesn’t provide much instruction or information about operating in spiritual gifts. But if you look carefully, there are some hints. The prophets of old saw “pictures” or heard “sounds.” They picked up on the things of God in the realm of the imagination. Does God still speak through the senses? Yes, He does. The Lord sometimes enlightens the deep recesses of our minds. I would like to point out some of the different ways that people receive words of knowledge today.
This word sight means to see, look, behold, observe, perceive, understand, experience, visit, or inspect. The physical sense of sight allows us to see what’s in front of us. Our spiritual sense of sight allows us to see the eternal perspective. With our spiritual eyes, we can see the revelations of God through His word and experience it in our lives. We will be enlightened to understanding God’s plan and purpose in our lives. We need spiritual sight so that we are not deceived by the world. We need to maintain our spiritual sight by immersing ourselves in God’s word and drawing closer to Him in prayer. We should also focus our sight on the things above. As it is mentioned in 2 Corinthians 4:18, we should look at what is invisible to the world today and focus on what is eternal.
One of the ways to receive a word of knowledge is by seeing an image or picture. God will point something out that needs to be acted upon whether He allows us to see it physically with our own eyes, or it could be seen in our mind’s eye through a vision.

All glory be to Jesus!
2. I can sing without fear,
Praise the name of Jesus!
He, my present help, is near,
Praise the name of Jesus!
3. Pressing on my pilgrim way,
Trusting only Jesus!
Oh, ‘tis joy from day to day,
Trusting only Jesus!
