1 Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.   2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.   3 And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.   4 And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:  5 For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.   6 Then Jesus went with them.   And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself:  for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:  7 Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee:  but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.   8 For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth;  and to another, Come, and he cometh;  and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.   9 When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.   10 And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

THE GIFTS OF POWER Gifts of Healings

Text: Luke 7:1-10

Memory verse: Acts 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

One of the power gifts is called the gifts of healings. I know the King James Version of the Bible lists this as "gifts of healing" but, in the Greek, both words are plural, gifts of healings. It is interesting to note that the Bible refers to this gift in a plural sense, “the gifts of healings.” This is because there are diversity in healing. Why is it plural? Because many things cause sickness. Some sicknesses are caused by accidents, some by personal neglect. Some are caused by organic ailments, some by a spirit of infirmity or actual satanic oppression. sicknesses and diseases are caused by demonic possession.

A gift of healing is God's power flowing down through your body to drive out afflictions in Jesus' name. It comes as the Spirit wills. The gift of healing is a gift of power that God drops on people, but it's not manifested in the same way all the time. Sometimes God's healing power drops on you, and your body just unfolds before Him, you just drop on the floor. Sometimes it drops on you, and it comes so easy, precious, sweet and warm. Sometimes God's healing will drop on you and you won't even feel anything. You have to check yourself and find out that you are healed. When the gift of healing comes, it comes so quickly. It's given as the Spirit wills. You never know when it is going to happen. There are all kinds of ways for you to be healed. Laying of hands is one way to be healed. The gift of healing works differently. It is still God's healing power. It is the same kind of healing power that comes when a person lays his hands on somebody, but it usually comes in a stronger way. Some people receive God's healing power and the gifts of healings, and nobody touches them. They don't necessarily try to quote anything; it just comes to them automatically. That's involved in the gifts of healings that is given out as the Spirit wills. When it comes, it just comes.

There are primarily three types of healings: spiritual, physical, and emotional healing. The gifts of healings is a supernatural ability imparted to the believers to heal a sick person spiritually, emotionally, and physically from all manners of diseases and sicknesses without any human aid or medication. When the gifts of healings are in operation, the healing power of God is channelled or conveyed through the believer having the gift of healing to the body of the sick to effect divine healing. The healing power of God can be conveyed or released by the believers to effect healing in the sick person through the teaching, preaching, or speaking of the word of faith; through the laying on of hands or the touch of faith Mark 6:56; 16:18; through anointing with oil in the name of the Lord James 5:14; through the prayer of faith James 5:15; through handkerchiefs or aprons Acts 19:12; or any other medium Acts 5:15.

  Prayers 

1.  Lord Jesus, heal me Spirit Soul and Body empower me to access the miraculous.

2.  LORD God Almighty, let your authority and power swallow every sickness and affliction from the kingdom of darkness in Jesus’ name. Amen.    

3.  Pray for others in this regard.
