Text: Proverbs 24:1-7

1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.   2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.  3 Through wisdom is an house builded;  and by understanding it is established:  4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.   5 A wise man is strong;  yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.   6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war:  and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.  7 Wisdom is too high for a fool:  he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

GOD’S WISDOM IS GOD’S POWER

Text: Proverbs 24:1-7

Memory verse: Proverbs 24:5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

Wisdom and knowledge make a man powerful. This principle is valid in anything. A common expression in English is the advice to "work smarter, not harder." In part, this means a person can accomplish much more through wisdom and careful thinking, as compared to just physical force or effort. A person well-established in truth and wisdom is better equipped to make decisions. The one who pools the wisdom of many people is more likely to find a workable solution to their problem Proverbs 15:22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors, they are established.

Apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 1:9–11 "And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might". The truly wise person does not rely on his own strength to gain victory over temptation and to triumph over trials. He trusts the Lord for strength.

Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 And my speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God

God’s solution to the situations of our life is not in the wisdom of men. It is His wisdom and His power. God’s wisdom for lifting you up above all opposition is not just brilliant strategies but His power. Therefore, trust the power of God and its demonstration as His wisdom to direct you and cause you to triumph in life. As you go through this week, go for the Word of God and His power, and decide to experience the wisdom of God. Deliberately ask God for wisdom knowing you will receive the encounter or angelic intervention you need to solve problems and answer questions.

1. Faith is a living power from heaven

Which grasps the promise God has given ;

Securely fixed on Christ alone,

A trust that cannot be o'erthrown.

Strong in His grace, it joys to share

His cross, in hope His crown to wear.

3. Faith to the conscience whispers peace,

And bids the mourner's sighing cease ;

By faith the children's right we claim,

And call upon our Father's name.

4. Such faith in us, O God, implant,

And to our prayers Thy favour grant,

In Jesus Christ, Thy saving Son,

Who is our fount of health alone.

 Prayers 

1.  Lord Jesus, empower me always by Your wisdom.

2.  LORD God Almighty, strengthen me in my inner man with Your power by Your wisdom to do exploit in Jesus’ name. Amen.    

3.  Pray for others in this regard.
